Oliver Seda is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary artist whose work focuses primarily on relationships between sound, light, natural growth and decay, and the geometric patterns that can be found in exploring these subjects.
Working in a range of mediums including woodblock printmaking, sculpture, and drawing, Oliver searches for opportunities to let the physical nature of the materials take the lead in generating a visual aesthetic. For example, allowing the natural lighting of a space to influence the layout of an installation or following the patterns of a woodgrain to shape compositional decisions. Oliver’s background as a multi-instrumentalist and music producer also plays a crucial role in his creative process, as he strives to create work that allows you to digest different aspects over time, similar to how one gets to know a piece of music.
